Here we have a collection of sites recommended by our members for the teaching and learning of English as a Foreign, Second or Additional Language. This is by no means meant to be an exhaustive list. Pete's Power Point Station - FREE Presentations in PowerPoint format
While these power point presentations are meant for children who are native speakers of English, some may be useful in an EFL context either as is or with adaptation. All the presentations can be adapted and reused. Examples are presentations on Shakespheare, native American stories, Aesop's fables, globalization, social stratification, stereotypes, etc.

This website is meant for the independent learning of adolescents and adults. It is a useful resource for EFL students. It is particularly useful for exposure to practical English and for lessons with a practical focus in addition to a language focus. Lessons in English on the practical skills of "personal branding" are useful, up-to-date opportunities for students to enrich their real-world skills in a realistic English language context.

AUSTRALIAN SITE FOR LANGUAGES - NOT ONLY ENGLISH EFL
Languages Online contains free resource for language students and teachers. Game Makers can be downloaded and used to create interactive language games in ANY language. Ready made interactive tasks and worksheets are also available for students learning French, German, Indonesian or Italian.

Linked to Macmillan publishers, this is an excellent resource site with quality material for Teachers of EFL/ESL. While many free resources are available, full access is through subscription which may be considered a bit expensive. Nevertheless, there is an excellent search function to sift through the hundreds (thousands?) of materials and it is always worth it to search for what you are looking for even if looking only for free stuff. The material is well thought out and many there are many articles to keep you up to date with what is going on in the English teaching world--making this a good professional development site also.

Teachitworld offers many useful ready-made lessons, presentations, worksheets and other lesson ideas/formats to its members. Free registration allows access to many pdf.'s To make full use of all resources a subscription is needed. It is similar to One Stop English but it is cheaper and it is share-based: you can share your own materials. The ELT lessons are of good quality.

This is an excellent site for teenage and even young adult students to practice and learn English in a relaxed, fun and social way. This link will take you to a website full of resources: lesson plans for teachers, explanations for students, grammar references for both students and teachers, quizzes, handouts, printables, slang, idioms, phrasal verbs, worksheets, text analyzer, essay writing, ask a teacher forum, etc. etc.! There is a wealth of information for everyone. Make sure to navigate all through the site and explore all the options.

This website is now an online resource book for teachers who can refer to our published articles on teaching techniques and other things of interest to EFL and ESL teachers.


The ESL-Library
ESL-Library is a resource site for language teachers. Though ESL-Library started as (and continues to be) a printable resource site for teachers, we are hard at work developing new online versions of our content, for students to access on their own. We offer language teachers instant access to a huge collection of lesson plans and flashcards . Our site is set up as membership service. A paid membership gets teachers access to all of the content in the Lesson Plan Library and Flashcard Library sections. ESL Library is a perpetual work-in-progress. We're constantly trying to improve the site and add more value for teachers and students alike. We love ESL-Library, and hope you do too.
