Links and Resources for Teachers of English Language

This page contains a collection of lesson plans, links, resources and other material posted by various group members who are mother tongue and bilingual English Conversation Teachers.

This site branches off into many different areas. It is useful for experienced teachers and for beginner teachers of EFL alike. To keep students motivated and to help them cultivate their lifelong learning skills, it is necessary for teachers to continually have relevant material on hand and sites where they can practice. This page helps us with these goals. In the future our conferences will also include help groups where new teachers, or those of you who have reached a platform and can't move on, can get some ideas to make your work more interesting.

We strive to offer useful and up-to-date teaching resources and material on this page. If you would like to share your own material here please contact us at our group email address:

Do you have a successful lesson plan to share? Our time with the students is generally limited to only one hour a week, so well-thought out lessons are needed as a good way of keeping our students active and engaged. A good way to do this is by using authentic materials offered by the internet. Whether based on ready-made exercises, teacher-created lessons or as-is software, these are lessons we can use in class and/or lessons we can use to show our students how to learn in their free time--thus encouraging autonomous learning. It is not easy to be innovative all the time, but by using the material available here you don't have to be! You can (and should!) adapt the material, improve upon it, use it to stimulate your imagination, and to use it to make your work much more creative! Thank you for looking and contributing!

Do you have other great resources to share besides lesson plans and links? In this area, the English Conversation Teacher group members add other resources that they use in their work and want to share. Anyone can send material by contacting us via our email (see above). Please include a review of each resource you intend to share with us so that our users will have an idea of how the resource actually works and how it can be used to one's best advantage. Thank you for looking and contributing!

USEFUL LINKS

Do you know a fantastic site? Sometimes the humdrum of everyday school life can really give you a burn-out of ideas and close your eyes to signs that a class isn't performing with interest anymore.

Other times you may get stuck

in a rut for whatever

reason and might not know

exactly where to begin to

overcome a difficult teaching-

learning situation. This page

of links will get your creative juices flowing again with useful ideas, new tools, some tips to try out, etc. Thank you for looking and contributing!

Please give us interesting/useful cultural information about where you are from! The mother tongue and bilingual English Conversation Teachers in this group come from all over the English-speaking world! Here you can find all kinds of information pertaining to the areas of the world they are from, whether local, regional or national. Examples include urls and links to local events, institutions, media sites, etc. from these areas of the world. We are particularly interested in sites that offer podcasts and authentic listening materials.  Please let us know if one needs a shield to be able to listen to the material on these media sites. Thank you for looking and contributing!
